SUSTAINABILITY POLICY

Glakor cable glands respects the physical and social environment and aims by contributing to sustainable development through our activities. We will contribute to the development of a sustainable future through the following initiatives:

  1. Products and Solutions
    We are working with our customers and business partners in order to aiming for sustainable environmental protection and social development.
  2. Sustainable Production
    We are working in order to maintain the natural resources to next generations.
  3. Environment
    Aiming to realize a sustainable society and try to solve global issues (climate change, global warming,...) we fulfil environment-related laws and regulations that apply in all countries and regions where we carry out business. We work to produce our Industrial enclosures taking care of environment, for instance we declare to the environmental authorities every packaging put in sale and every environmental emissions produce in our factories. We recycle all the waste by our waste manager.
  4. Supply Chain
    We care about the impact of our business activities and also our suppliers on the environment and society, and we will encourage responsible material working together with our suppliers.
  5. Respect for Human Rights
    We support global standards such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights We also respect our stakeholders’ human rights, including suppliers and local communities, and contribute to reduce their human rights risks in our business activities.
  6. Human Resources, Safety and Health
    We encourage a corporate culture designed to maximize the expertise and abilities of every employee and respect each other. We are working to ensure health and safety so that each employee can make full use of their abilities.

PARTICIPATION IN INITIATIVES

Corporate sustainability starts with a company ́s value system and a principles bases approach to doing business. This means operating in ways that, at a minimum, meet fundamental responsibilities in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.

Prensaestopas is committed to the ten principles related to “human rights protection”, “elimination of unfair labour”, “environmental protection” and “anti-corruption”.

The Ten Principles of the United Nation Global Compact:

- Human Rights:

  • Principle 1: Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights.
  • Principle 2: Make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.

- Labour:

  • Principle 3: Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining.
  • Principle 4: The elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour.
  • Principle 5: The effective abolition of child labour.
  • Principle 6: The elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.

- Environment:

  • Principle 7: Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges.
  • Principle 8: Undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility.
  • Principle 9: Encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.

- Anti-Corruption:

  • Principle 10: Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.

BASIC ENVIRONMENT POLICY

Environmental Philosophy


Prensaestopas recognizes the importance of the harmony with global environment and humanity, as well as sustainable development.

Action Guideline:

  1. Complying with Environmental Regulations and Rules
    In promoting business activities, we observe and comply with environment-related laws, regulations, agreements etc.
  2. Resource Conservation, Energy Saving and Recycling.
    We look for promote the conservation of resources, energy saving and recycling in all areas of our activity.
  3. Contributing to environmental conservation by development of new products and technologies.
    We contribute to society through the development of technologies and products that contribute to reducing environmental impact making analysis of the life ́s enclosures cycle every year and suggest ways to get our environmental targets.
  4. Environmental Administrative Organization and Building an Environmental Management System
    We promote environmental conservation efforts by establishing an environmental administrative organization, and by building and maintaining an environmental management system, designing by dismantling and with mono-materials, reducing our packaging and looking for supplier with certificate in carbon footprint in order to reduce the CO2 emissions.

Management structure


Under monitoring by the CEO of Prensaestopas our staff meets regularly to discuss, plan and confirm result, such as compliance, climate change, social contributions and diversity for instance we contribute with several financial contributions in sport activities, sponsorships and contracts with universities and institutes for student training.

Biodiversity


In Prensaestopas recognizes the critical importance of “Conserving the Natural and Marine Environment” and “Safely running the projects in the countries and places where we work for”.

We promote activities for “Reduction of impact on biodiversity” inside our company and “Conservation of biodiversity” through cooperation with stakeholders such as governments, other companies, and sub-contractors.

Climate change


Prensaestopas recognizes contentious action focusing on climate change is essential for sustainable development.

Fulfilling our mission to secure the stable supply of energy, we contribute to achieving global goals such as evaluation and measurement of atmospheric emissions and also periodic environmental assessments, indeed Prensaestopas produces enough energy for cover all the energy needs of our factory by solar panels and nowadays we are reducing in 102 tonnes per year our emission of CO2 at the atmosphere equivalent to 237 petroleum barrels.

Pollution and resource


In addition, we actively seek to minimize environmental impacts through management systems which identify and evaluate the environmental risks in each project.

Water issues


Reflecting the growing concern of the global perspective on water-related issues, Prensaestopas complies with environmental laws and regulations in the countries and regions where we conduct our business.

We commit to engage in the reduction of impacts on water resources and the reduced water consumption with recognition that the conservation and sustainable use of water resources are key materiality for us. In addition, we promote a business that related to sustainable use and conservation of water resources.
